MUSIC AT CHRIST CHURCH
Music is central to the worship life of Christ Church.
The music program at Christ Church is varied and presently includes traditional organ and choral music, a handbell choir, a contemporary music ensemble, and a concert series featuring our Létourneau pipe organ.
Christ Church Chorale
The adult choir rehearses on
Thursday evenings at 7:15 p.m. in the choir room, and
sings regularly at 11:00 a.m. traditional Sunday
service. The Chorale leads the worshiping Christ Church
community in the singing of hymns and liturgical
music. Highlights of the choir season include special
holiday presentations before the Christmas Eve Eucharist
and during Holy Week services. In spring the Chorale
also performs a Mass with soloists and chamber orchestra
during the liturgical service. The Chorale is open to
all persons 16 and over without an audition.
Contemporary Service The Praise Team rehearses on
Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and leads the worship music for the 9:00 a.m. Sunday contemporary service.

Children's Choir
Christ Church's Children's Choir is
open to students in grades 2-8. Rehearsals are
Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:15 pm in the choir
rehearsal room. Contact the Director,

Jubilate Handbell Choir The Jubilate Bell Choir began in 1989 with the gift of three octaves of Schulmerich handbells by parishioner, Dr. Betty G. Odell. Shortly thereafter, a three octave set of choir chimes was purchased, providing additional color and variety to our musical offerings. The handbell choir meets for weekly rehearsals, September through May, and provides music for the 11:00 a.m. service on the first Sunday of each month, as well as special music for Christmas Eve and Easter and other festival services.New ringers are always welcome–teenagers to adults. No experience is necessary, although it is helpful if you can read simple musical rhythms. Your most important gift, however, is a commitment to regular attendance at rehearsals. A bell choir is analogous to the church at large in many respects. A single bell hasn't much to offer on its own, but its silence leaves a gaping hole in the music.Consider joining us for fun, fellowship and occasionally even food, as we work together to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord!" Rehearsals are Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Worship Center. For information,
Margaret Sanford.
Instruments The new 3-manual, 68-stop Létourneau pipe organ, Op. 96, has arrived and now enriches worship at Christ Church weekly. With this new instrument Christ Church seeks to build a well-rounded, comprehensive music program of the highest quality. Christ Church also has a smaller organ in the Chapel, Op. 18A, built by Dan Jaeckel of Duluth, MN.
